Running the Extra Mile: My Half Marathon for WaterAid
Scroll through your favourite social media channel, and there’s a good chance you’ll find someone showcasing their latest achievement, be it baking banana bread or mastering the art of the handstand. But recently, I took on a slightly more breath-taking challenge: a half marathon. Not just for the ‘Gram, but for a cause that goes beyond a fleeting story highlight: WaterAid.
If you’d told me a year ago that I’d be penning down my experiences of a half marathon, I’d have told you where to go. Yet, here I am, a strategist turned semi-professional panting enthusiast, ruminating on 13.1 miles and the digital world.
Pre-race Jitters: From Insights to Footprints
Training for a half marathon is a little like navigating the turbulent waters of a strategy. There’s research, understanding the terrain, anticipating challenges, and recognising when to push harder or ease off. There is something special about seeing thousands of people, gearing up to run 13.1miles for a cause.
