Move over, SkyNet, there’s a new AI kid on the block and it goes by the name X.AI
Courtesy of none other than tech wizard, Elon Musk. Musk, who’s been teasing us with rumours of a new AI company, has finally incorporated X.AI, with himself as the director and his family office’s Jared Birchall as its secretary.
Apparently, Musk has been busy buying up thousands of graphic processing units (GPUs) to power an upcoming generative AI product, and even sought funding from SpaceX and Tesla investors to get the ball rolling. Looks like Musk is ready to give Microsoft’s OpenAI a run for its money, after walking away from the company he co-founded in 2015.
But don’t worry, according to Musk, everyone and their dog is buying GPUs these days – nothing to see here, folks.
